Find out the facts about the Employers' Liability Trading Office - a recently setup independent body supported by the Financial Services Authority
The Employers’ Liability Tracing Office (ELTO) is an independent industry body that has recently been set up, with the support of the Financial Services Authority, to make it compulsory to record certain details relating to Employer’s Liability insurance.
These details are recorded on a centralised database – the Employer’s Liability Database (ELD).
From April 2013 – only six months from now – provision of full data to the Employers’ Liability Tracing Office (ELTO) for all insurance policies with Employers’ Liability cover will be compulsory.
Since April 2012 Covered has been ahead of the game collecting the required data from our clients, it is very important that we are all able to FULLY comply with the new regulations in April 2013. At that time, Covered and every other insurance provider MUST provide your Employer Reference Number (ERN) to your insurance company (also known as Employer PAYE Reference).
This is a proactive move by the insurance industry to meet its obligations to help those who have suffered injury or illness in the workplace to identify the relevant insurer quickly and efficiently.
The next six months presents an opportunity for everyone (policyholders, Covered, insurance providers and ELTO) to get everything in place and overcome any issues.
